Kirit enjoys working alongside small and medium-sized businesses, to help them achieve the best possible tax, accounting and IT system outcomes.

Kirit is adept at identifying tax saving opportunities, implementing business system improvement processes and maximising return on investment.

In addition, Kirit has a broad client base that ranges from rental property owners to property developers, importers and exporters, retailers and wholesalers, service professionals and franchisees which gives him wide experience to deal with the many business matters that become relevant to his clients on a day to day basis.

With a passion for working in partnership with her clients, Kate provides business planning, strategies and personal asset and structure advice to clients.

Kate has worked across a range of business models and industries. She has skills in international cross-border transactions, software development and accounting for the entertainment industry. Kate’s experience also includes managing IRD audits and family trust administration.

Kate is the Human Resources Partner and Director of Practice Administration for Walker Wayland. She leads a team responsible for client services, designs and implements workplace procedures and liaises with partners and managers to ensure they have the support they need.

Alannah’s professional life has always been in the accounting industry, after being inspired by a teacher who was passionate about the role of accountants in society.

Alannah has worked across multiple industries – from investment property owners and charities to optometrists, pharmacies and lawyers to manufacturing and shipping companies – and that diversity is something she enjoys in her own business.

Alannah assists clients in all areas of their business, from setting up the right structure, helping them expand internationally to preparing accounts and tax returns. Alannah works directly with business owners and their trusted advisors to help them achieve their goals.

Nick has enjoyed over 30 years’ of experience working with a wide range of clients across a variety of industries, in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. This diversity enables him to appreciate the wealth of challenges facing numerous industries, so he can provide pragmatic and targeted advice.

Nick also provided audit and assurance services for 30 years as well as business, accounting and taxation advice but recently “retired” from auditing to focus on the needs and aspirations of his business-owning clients.

His experience in auditing does, however, bring to bear additional skills, knowledge and perspective as he works alongside those clients on the journey to achieving their goals.

Shireen joined Walker Wayland in November 2022, after migrating from South Africa where she owned a small practice for the past 13 years. She has worked with clients across various industries and thrives on business advisory. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management Accounting and is the Business Services Manager for Sandy Nelson.

Prior to joining Walker Wayland in 2022, Michèle gained experience in accounting firms across both the North and South Islands, allowing her to develop an understanding of the complexities of financial management and accounting across different industries and sectors. 

Having a solid foundation in compliance and helping clients meet their regulatory obligations, Michèle transitioned to advisory services where she uses her expertise to help clients make strategic financial decisions and achieve their business goals. 

Michèle enjoys working closely with her clients and building lasting relationships.  Michèle’s interest outside of work include painting, reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Mohsin has a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Finance and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Since beginning his professional career in 2012, Mohsin has gained valuable knowledge and skills working with a range of business. He is enjoying developing his career at Walker Wayland as a Business Advisory Services accountant.

Tanya joined the firm in 2004 as a Business Services Manager working with Sandy Nelson and Kate Dudley. Tanya is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience in Public Practice taxation and business services, with a further 4 years’ experience in the commercial sector. Before her work experience, Tanya gained a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Auckland.

Mark has over 15 years of experience in accountancy and business advisory services. He enjoys working alongside his clients to maintain and improve their accounting systems, to generate timely and accurate financial information as an aid to business development. Mark also has an interest in tax work, in all its forms.

Peter joined Walker Wayland in 2009 after graduating as a Bachelor of Business Information Management at Auckland University. Peter is a qualified Chartered Accountant and predominantly works with Kirit Lal. Peter focusses on helping businesses improve their accounting systems through the use of technology such as Xero or MYOB.

Behshtah joined Walker Wayland in 2021 as a BAS Accountant. She has gained her Bachelor of Commerce qualifications from the University of Auckland majoring in Accountancy and Commercial Law and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant. She has been in the business/accountancy field since 2014 and has valuable skills and interest on the attention to detail of getting your accounts completed accurately.

Cindy joined Walker Wayland in September 2017 as a BAS accountant, having previously worked for a Chartered Accountancy firm in Auckland for three years. Cindy is a qualified Chartered Accountant and works with clients across various industries.

Debbie is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Business Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Chartered Accountancy. Debbie has worked at Walker Wayland since March 2008 as an accountant in our Business Advisory Services team. She has a background in rural accounting and is delighted to help all her clients with their accounting needs. She specialises in providing taxation advice for small to medium-sized businesses.

Jenny joined the Walker Wayland team in 2005 in an administration role and subsequently became part of the firm’s accounting team a year later, working predominantly with Kate Dudley. Jenny works with a wide variety of clients across the firm and enjoys the exposure to different businesses and people along the way.

Millie has been part of the Chartered Accounting sector for almost 25 years. She joined Walker Wayland in 2015 and works predominantly with Kate Dudley. Millie works with a wide range of clients, from sole traders, rental property investors to companies in a variety of businesses. She particularly enjoys getting a deep understanding of her client’s needs and developing a relationship to help them meet their accounting and tax matters.

Sarwan has worked in Chartered Accountancy for the last 19 years and joined Walker Wayland in 2016. Before migrating to New Zealand, Sarwan worked for the Fiji Inland Revenue Department. He then managed a small business in Hamilton while studying part-time for his Bachelor of Business in Accountancy from Unitec. Sarwan is involved in tax compliance work and some business advisory services.

Shirley joined Walker Wayland in May 2019. Before that, she worked at a Chartered Accountancy firm in Auckland for over 12 years. Shirley moved from her hometown in China to New Zealand in 1995, after gaining a Bachelor of Engineering. While settling into her new life in Auckland, Shirley also acquired a Bachelor of Business from Unitec Institute of Technology.

Nadia joined the firm in 2023 as a Senior Accountant. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant with 10 years of experience in accountancy and business advisory services, along with an additional 10 years of experience in Law. Nadia enjoys working alongside clients to maintain and improve their accounting systems, as well as assisting them with their accounting and tax matters.

Maurice joined Walker Wayland in 2023 as a Business Services Accountant. He graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Accountancy and is currently studying towards his Chartered Accountancy qualification. Maurice started his career in an insolvency firm in Auckland, before joining Walker Wayland.

Jacob started his career working at one of the big 4 firms in Hamilton before joining Walker Wayland.

Elen joined Walker Wayland in January 2024 after three years as an Assistant Accountant in the automotive industry. In 2019, she completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland and was awarded a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting in January 2022. Elen is currently a provisional member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and looks forward to building a career in public practice while working towards full CAANZ membership.

Garth joined Walker Wayland in 2024. Garth holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and is currently working towards gaining his chartered accountancy qualification. Prior to joining Walker Wayland, Garth worked for a boutique accountancy practice and prior to that spent time working in the marine industry.

Echo jointed walker wayland in June 2022. She graduated from the University of Auckland with a Master of professional accounting degree and has six 6 years working experience in accounting field.

Kathryn joined Walker Wayland in 2023 as the Office Manager. She graduated from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand with a Diploma in Business. She brings experience from a range of industries from hospitality to construction.

Nicole joined Walker Wayland in July 2020 as a temp and as of 2021 started a permanent position within the admin team. She has since taken over the Tax and Compliance Administration role and is excited to learn new things.

Ariki joined Walker Wayland in 2023 as an Accounts Administrator. He brings a wide range of skills, accumulated across various roles in the hospitality and retail industries, most recently an Accounts Administrator for a well-known New Zealand retailer. Ariki is excited to join Walker Wayland and to assist in all accounts and administration enquiries.

Sunleng joined Walker Wayland in 2022 as a receptionist. Prior to her position at Walker Wayland Sunleng has had extensive experience in customer facing environments, having worked in the hospitality industry for 11 years. Sunleng has a passion for working with people and engaging in a customer oriented environment. She is eager and for her start in a business environment.

Vannessa joined Walker Wayland in 2024 on Reception.

Vannessa brings a wide skillset from administration to interpersonal and communication skills spanning a number of industries including Property Management, Corporate and Community environments.
Most recently Vannessa has returned to school to study the ancient art of Raranga, Māori weaving. Vannessa enjoys spending time and adventures with whanau, beach walks with her dog and caring for the Harakeke plants that gift her materials for weaving.
